THUNDER BAY JUNIORS ARE GEARING UP FOR NEW SEASON

Linda Cella and Brian McLean are expecting a full squad of boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 21 this coming season at Mario's. Last season there were over 70 bowlers between the age of 4 and 21.
The Thunder Bay Junior Tenpin program, a sanctioned bowling program with the Canadian Tenpin Federation, is divided into five age groups, namely, the PEEWEES who age up to 8 years old; BANTAMS are nine to eleven; JUNIORS are 12 to 14; INTERMEDIATES are 15, 16 and 17 and the SENIORS who are 18 to 21 year olds.
All of the bowlers also belong to the Youth Bowling Canada.
The NCCP (National Coaches Certification Program) coaches for the program for the new season include McLean, Linda Cella (Head Coach), Dan Nakonechny, Kit Busby, Sandra Wojciechoski, Bill Graham, Di Nakonechny, Mika Vanhalpelto, Tony Russo and Jeff Foster. The program runs every Sunday morning at Mario's Bowl starting September with registration and concluding in June with the Awards banquet. There are numerous tournaments throughout the season. All are based on handicap to make all bowlers equal except for qualifying for the YBC 4 Steps to Stardom and the CTF Provincials. There are even tournaments that include the parents.
The registration fee for the season is $40.00 which entitles the bowler to free shoes whenever he/she goes bowling and also a reduced rate for extra bowling times. Each week the bowlers, except the PeeWees, pay a weekly bowling fee to cover the cost of bowling for the three games. PeeWees bowl only two games and pay just for the two games, those over 14 play 4 games. For more information on The Thunder Bay Junior Tenpin program, please call Linda at 577-2615 or come to Mario's and ask a staff member. There is even free bowling lessons. Call Mario's for the dates and time.
    You can even Email
